Hold up a minute, you weren't seriously thinking of doing all that New Year's Eve drinking on an empty stomach were you? We sure hope not. Here's our roundup of special NYE feasts to line your stomach, divided by area (Bund, Puxi and Pudong) and price, with a few of our favorite songs from 2015 thrown in.


The Bund

Mid-Range (RMB300-RMB800)

Unico by Mauro Colagreco

The Michelin starred chef’s contemporary Latin American Bund favorite is offering a six-course Festive Menu (RMB788) and a six-course Prestige Menu (RMB,1288) for the holidays from Christmas Eve to New Year's Eve. Special early bird dinner prices including either two Festive or Prestige menus with a bottle of Perrier Jouet Grad Brut Champagne are available for RMB2,088-2,988 from 5.30-6.30pm.

Mercato

Enjoy a cozy New Year’s Eve at the modern Italian favorite with a nine-course sharing dinner. Minimum booking of two people.

CHI-Q

Indulge in a festive BBQ dinner of Chef Bina’s favorites and other signature delicacies from the Korean-fusion favorite.

NAPA Wine Bar and Kitchen

Enjoy a refined six course tasting menu and optional wine pairing, featuring highlights like Australian beef tenderloin tataki daikon paired with Vilette Grand Cru and 30 days aged black angus ribe eye with Michael Mondavi Family Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa. Free champagne for everyone at midnight.

Glam

The glamorous restaurant and lounge is serving a special New Year’s Eve sharing menu for two with either a 375mL bottle of Perrier-Jouët Champagne or a bottle of our award-winning house wine. Dining guests can stay light and enjoy a chic New Year’s Eve party featuring French chanteuse Anne Evenou performing disco and soul funk.

Atto Primo

The Italian restaurant is offering up two sharing menu options for either RMB698 or RMB768.

Ming Yuan Chinese Restaurant 

A full belly and drink in hand will guarantee a good ending to 2015. Celebrate the countdown to 2016 at Ming Yuan Chinese Restaurant on the Bund with a splendid seven-course set menu, including Ming Yuan’s signature winter drink.

el Willy

Chef Willy oversees an extravagant New Year’s Eve dinner featuring Gillardeau oysters, Australian striploin steak, balik salmon, mixed seafood ceviche and more. Discosmic Adventures’ Nik Hilp will spin from 10pm-late. Reservations essential.

G Waterfront

The South Bund favorite is celebrating New Year’s with an all-you-can-eat Indian buffet and open air. Once you’re done indulging in all the different flavors, they’ll be opening up the lounge with three DJs; each paying tribute to either the 70s, 80s or 90s.

Splurge (more than RMB800)

8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA

The refined Italian favorite presents a six course New Years Eve dinner featuring Venetian style snacks, Alba white truffle, beef, lobster and more.

Whampoa Club

Enjoy an epicurean’s feast of contemporary Chinese with a six-course dinner that includes two hours of free flow wine, beer and soft drinks.

Grand Brasserie

The luxurious Waldorf Astoria hotel celebrates the holiday in truly extravagant fashion. Grand Brasserie will offer up holiday themed Western buffets on Christmas Eve (RMB1,188 or RMB488 for children) and New Year’s Eve (RMB888 or RMB348 for children). Expect live entertainment and a visit from Santa. For Christmas, they’ll be offering a Champagne Brunch full of traditional festive favorites, delectable desserts and free flow Champagne for RMB998 or RMB488 for kids.

M1NT Restaurant & Grill

Chef Daniel Smeenk presents a sumptuous five-course dinner menu featuring delaccies from fresh jetted French Fine de Claire oysters, marbre of duck liber and Ibero ham, grilled yellow fin tuna steak, Australian beef short rib, chocolate mud cake and one glass of champagne.

Pelham's 

It’s going to be a long night – make sure you arrive to your final destination for ringing in the New Year with a full belly. Get your New Years festivities off to a great start on the Bund with an elegant 6-course meal at Pelham’s. Price includes a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival.

Wei Jing Ge

Chef Yuen is serving up 10-course menus full of authentic Cantonese and Shanghainese flavors at the acclaimed Waldorf Astoria restaurant for RMB888 on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. Complimentary red and white wine included.

Hakkasan

The acclaimed Bund restaurant is serving up an exclusive New Year’s Eve menu perfect for sharing. Enjoy their signature favorites like Crispy duck with imperial caviar and gold leaf panckae, dim sum platter, stir-fry Australian beef tenderloid and foie gra, and roasted silver cod with champagne and honey. Live peformances and iconic Bund views will only add to the opulent environment.

Yi Long Court

Feast on an eight-course meal of Cantonese favorites at the Peninsula on the Bund’s acclaimed restaurant.

The Lobby

The Peninsula on the Bund restaurant is serving up a five-course New Year’s Eve feast. A band will perform and a complementary glass of champagne will be given out before midnight.

POP

Fun flavors and stunning night views of the Bund come together with this six course New Year’s Eve Dinner, plus admission to their Black & White Countdown Party, which includes four hours of free flow drinks. Party access is RMB300 or RMB700 with free flow special.

Cheap and Cheerful (less than RMB300)

Latina

Enjoy a deluxe churrasco, plus special New Year's Eve buffet of Brazilian barbecue favorites at Latina. Stick around late for a live performance from a Brazilian band with a party that will also celebrate the upcoming Summer Olympics in Rio.

Alla Torre

Enjoy a romantic New Year's Eve dinner with thi two-person sharing set for RMB298, featuring calimari, Cesare salad, smoked bacon in spicy tomato sauce, beef tenderloin and tiramisu.

Flame Bar & Grill

Enjoy a five-course meal that includes oysters, duck consomme, Alaska King crab cake, chocolate cheese cake and your choice of tournedos rossini or roast cod fish with truffle cream.

The Jing An Kerry Centre Mediterranean favorite is serving up a five course set menu.

Paulaner Bräuhaus 

The Bavarian favorite is serving up New Years Eve set menus at all of their Shanghai locations. Their Fenyang Lu location will offer a four-course dinner for RMB398. Their Xintiandi location will do a four course dinner with two drinks plus performances from their two house bands (ground floor seat is RMB958 or RMB788 for second floor.

Ambrosia 

The refined Japanese restaurant is serving up a RMB588 New Year's Eve set dinner at both branches. Favorites like sushi, sashimi and Yakiniku platters are available a la carte. All-you-can-drink is available for RMB200 plus 10 percent service charage.

Café Liang

The Jing An Kerry Centre café is hosting three dinner buffet sittings.

Summer Palace

Enjoy a six-course set at the Jing An Kerry Center favorite. The Pantry Chamber will be serving late night dim sum starting at 11pm.

Ai Mei

Enjoy a seven-course set of authentic Chinese dining delicacies at the acclaimed Le Royal Meridien restaurant. RMB1,088 entry gets dinner and free entry to the massive party at Hu Bar & Lounge.

Allure French Cuisine

Feast on a massive ten-course French gourmet meal full of Chef Joe’s signature favorites. Free flow house wine included and RMB1,088 gets you dinner and free entry to the big party at Hu Bar & Lounge.

The Apartment

The Yongfu Lu mainstay is organizing two floors of New Years fun, even opening up their VIP study room. Things kick off with a seven-course set dinner, that includes your choice of Wellington filet or baked chicken, and your choice of poached salmon or truffled pasta, plus more. Once things move into the night, there will be a live band and the club’s resident DJs playing nothing but bangers. Countdown on the rooftop patio and watch the fireworks.

Favola

Feast on an authentic Italian five course set dinner with free flow sparkling wines at the Le Royal Meridien favorite. RMB1,088 gets you dinner and admission into the big party at Hu Bar & Lounge.

Le Bistrot Signature Restaurant

Explore all the flavors of the sea from lobster to oysters at this seafood buffet New Years Eve. Comes with free flow champagne, beer and soft drinks. RMB1,088 gets you dinner and entry into the big party at Hu Bar & Lounge.

Kartel

All night, guests can enjoy a four-course menu for RMB798 (RMB698 in advance). For those looking solely to party, there is a solely free-flow option for RMB648 (RMB548 in advance). DJ Mike Ward spins electro swing and the rooftop will be the place to be to catch the New Year’s fireworks.

Celebrate New Year's Eve in grand style with a massive five-course NYE dinner. Once you've done eating, get ready for some dancing at Liquid Laundry's Vegas Style New Years Eve party and survive seven hours of free flow boozing.

La Stazione

Enjoy an authentic Italian New Years Eve dinner with two delicious four-couse menu options. Starting at 11.50pm, a DJ takes over for what promises to be an unforgettable countdown party.

Oceans

You can’t beat a night of dancing with a view of the stunning Lujiazui skyline to rein in the New Year. Banyan Tree Shanghai’s Oceans restaurant is offering a delicious New Years buffet feast, with complimentary champagne and free flow sparkling wine, house wine, beer, juice and soft drinks.

Cupola

Enjoy what Condé Nast Traveler describes as a “journey of a lifetime,” with a chauffeured limousine tour. That’s followed by a private eight-course dinner complemented by a violin session, gorgeous flowers and exceptional Champagnes and wine pairings. For two people only.

Käfer by The Binjiang One

Enjoy a seasonally-inspired meal and gorgeous views of the Bund from this charming restaurant by the Huangpu riverside. Live performances will add to the atmosphere and there’s a free-flow drinks option for an additional RMB250.

CHAR

Enjoy spectacular Bund views with an even more spectacular New Year’s Eve. CHAR will be hosting two seating times for the big day. From 6-9pm, guests can enjoy a four-course meal highlighted by CHAR grilled Tajima wagyu rib eye steak. From 9.30pm on, guests can enjoy a six-course menu adding Tasmania Osyeter and seared scallops to the earlier option. A jazz trio will add to the ambience with a complementary bottle of red or white wine included. Reservations recommended.
