In a timely and welcome reminder that not every rich person in China is a corrupt asshole, steel magnate Xiong Shuihua in Jiangxi Province has used RMB36 million of his own earnings to build new homes for fellow-villagers in his hometown of Xiongkeng Village, Yushuibei County.

Local residents only had to pay RMB30,000 out of pocket to move into the pristine new townhouse-style "villas." Poorer residents got to move into their new home for free. In 2010, many villagers' homes were badly damaged by flooding, prompting Xiong's resolve to help his old neighbors rebuild.

Three meals a day are also being provided free of charge to the new development's elderly residents.
