WATCH: Huge Fire Engulfs Tianjin Skyscraper

A huge fire in the North China megacity of Tianjin broke out yesterday, August 23, with residents nearby describing how they saw the entire east side of a skyscraper go up in flames.

The fire broke out at around 2.20pm, with emergency services receiving the call at around 2.24pm, reports Voice of Zhejiang media outlet. 

The fire broke out in Nankai District on the corner between Nanjing Road and Wandezhuang Nanbei Street. The building in question was the Xintiandi office block – a 27-storey-high building. 

Authorities confirmed that the fire was under control by 3.50pm the same day, and that the clean-up operation had begun by that time.  

Amazingly, , as of press time there have been neither any injuries nor deaths reported.
