A small monkey in Jiangxi has recently joined a tribe of goats, enjoying piggyback rides from members of the herd for almost a week.
Farmer Zhong Shu discovered the monkey business while tending to his goats last weekend.
"The little monkey has been here for about four or five days," said Zhong. "It seems the goats made it feel safe. Every time I came to shut goats in the fold at night, I found the monkey was either on the back of this goat or that goat. I tried to feed bananas to the monkey, but it did not eat and held on to the goat tightly."
The monkey has been treating the two goats like mothers, even though he isn’t exactly a chimp off the old block. He clings onto their backs when the tribe goes out to forage, and returns with them to the pen at night to sleep.

The county wildlife protection station has decided to transfer the monkey to the nearby Yichun Zoo to ensure the monkey is protected.
