The torrential downpour earlier this afternoon has caused approximately 150 cancelled and 200 delayed flights at Shanghai's Hongqiao and Pudong airports. 

According to Shanghai Daily, air traffic controllers at both airports issued a red alert for flight delays, the most serious alert out of a four-tier alert system.

So before you jet-set in the upcoming days of miserable weather, be sure to check Shanghai Airport Authority for updated flight information.
