Yesterday, the first storm of plum rains flooded Shanghai, giving you a good idea of the days to come. Shanghairen have officially entered plum rain season, and it is a lovely combination of stifling heat and seemingly nonstop rainfall.

Weather forecasters have recently announced that rainfall during the “plum rain season” is expected to be wetter than usual this year. According to Eastday, the rainfall expected over the next ten days will exceed that of entire plum rain seasons in recent years.
As for this week, from Tuesday to Friday, the skies will be overcast with a chance of thunder. Better keep your umbrellas handy!
The high temperatures are all forecasted to exceed 30 Celsius degrees for the next three days. On Saturday, the temperature will drop to 28 degrees and we will see a mix of sun and clouds. But on Sunday, another round of rain will visit Shanghai and the temperature will plummet to 25 degrees. Right at the heels of heavy rain, scorching days are expected to arrive.
