Xi Jinping trumps Jackie Chan to become world's third-most admired man

Chinese president Xi Jinping has been voted the most admired man in China and the third-most admired man globally in a new poll by UK-based YouGov, behind Bill Gates and Barack Obama.

Although Obama placed in the top ten in all 23 countries surveyed, however, Xi received rave reviews in the PRC only and did not appear on any other lists. YouGov has admitted that "some parts of the world were better represented than others."

In spite of his son's drug charges and wide-spread disdain in his hometown after he described it as "too free" and suggested that "Chinese people need to be controlled," Hong Kong actor Jackie Chan still somehow trounced Pope Francis, the Dalai Lama and Stephen Hawking into the fourth-place spot.

Alibaba CEO Jack Ma also made an appearance at eighth place and on the worldwide list of the most admired women, Hong Kong diva Faye Wong placed 17th.
