Food poisoning leaves 2 dead, 30 hospitalized at kindergarten

Two children have died and a further 30 have been hospitalized with suspected food poisoning at a kindergarten in Yunnan province on Wednesday, local authorities told Xinhua.

32 pupils were rushed to hospital after showing symptoms of food poisoning at around 3.20pm at Jiajia Kindergarten in Pinglong Village, Qiubei County, the county's publicity department said.

Two children died in hospital, with another five still in critical condition.

All of the kindergarten's total 76 students have all been taken to hospital for medical observation, while authorities investigate the incident.
