The Sukhothai Shanghai, in collaboration with Danish homeware collection brand Kop & Kande, together present a Nordic Autumn Journey immersive staycation.

From September 1 through October 29, The Sukhothai Shanghai and Kop & Kande are offering guests a home away from home, with a stylish new travel experience that blends the simplicity of the Scandinavian design aesthetic with hygge – the Danish concept of that warm, comfortable and safe feeling that comes from life's quieter pleasures.

Bringing the essence of Nordic minimalism to life, this endeavor caters to travel enthusiasts, as well as those who seek art, design and lifestyle experiences.

The Sukhothai Shanghai X Kop & Kande

The Sukhothai Shanghai adheres to sustainable and environmentally friendly principles in architectural design and material selection, using native stone, fine wood, silk, polished brass, and more to create diverse textures.

This aligns well with Kop & Kande's aesthetic philosophy. Hailing from Denmark, the home collection brand aims to interpret the significance of objects in interpersonal relationships and living spaces, much like The Sukhothai Shanghai’s desire for people to continuously seek new inspiration from their travel accommodations – finding the extraordinary in the ordinary.

This partnership brings together influential designer brands from Kop & Kande, including Danish silversmith Georg Jensen, German ceramics masters Villeroy & Boch, and popular Scandinavian fragrance brand Skandinavisk.

Century-old silverware brand Georg Jensen incorporates artistic shapes into textured works of design art, resulting in a luxurious sensory feast.

Whether it's the gracefully curved storage containers or intricately designed wine glasses and accessories, the room's practical items embellish the space with a touch of style and texture.

The restrained colors stand quietly, immediately emanating the charm of Scandinavia.

Room Features

The Sukhothai Shanghai X Kop & Kande collaboration presents two types of themed rooms: Luxury Suites and Studio Rooms.

The minimalistically designed spaces are adorned with stylish and vibrant natural materials, wooden furniture, lighting fixtures with metallic lines, and light green diatomaceous earth walls, creating a uniquely cozy atmosphere.

The textured everyday details bring a visually pleasing therapeutic power, soothing the noise and disturbances of the city, and creating a sanctuary for the soul.

The rooms feature Georg Jense verdant green Alfredo vases, the bulbous shape providing inspiration for the creative flower arrangements.

A combination of birch leaves, cedar pine and South African pine cones breathe life into the minimalist vases, representing the colors and smells of late winter; a symbol of the ending of the cold season and the heralding of spring – bringing warmth, transition and the promise of fruitfulness.

With a simple adjustment of your sensory perception and a touch of imagination, you can traverse different times and spaces.

The naturally mottled and subdued terrazzo, the elegantly textured brass, and the bold industrial sensation reveal a modern aesthetic pursuit akin to the designs of Enn.

Drawing inspiration from journeys, scent brand Skandinavisk excels in exploring remote realms.

Their iconic Hygge fragrance – symbolizing warmth – allows one to feel intimacy within the mundane and accompanies the Scandinavian art of living.

The Morandi-toned Island Scent series brings countless deserted islands into the explorer's gaze, anchoring in the stone-centric bathroom space.

Guests in the Kop & Kande-themed Luxury Suites will receive sparkling wine with a set of Georg Jensen Indulgence series ice buckets and a pair of Villeroy & Boch Rose Garden series champagne glasses.

With sculptural texture and avant-garde design, the Indulgence series of ice buckets retains architectural form while remaining practical, enhancing the infinite charm of Scandinavia throughout the living space.

Those in the Studio Rooms will receive a bottle of red wine, with a Georg Jensen Sky series crystal texture decanter, as well at the Villeroy & Boch Rose Garden series champagne glasses.

The Sky series decanter is crystalline, with an elegant and smooth shape.

Combining the hotel's design style, the themed rooms also feature Georg Jensen's caring storage boxes and fruit bowls, as well as candleholders.

Inspired by the 1960s storage boxes by Henning Koppel, the passage of time blends the leisurely charm of Scandinavia with the industrial texture of the terrazzo bathroom space, resulting in a perfect fusion and rebirth.

Designed by architectural master Verner Panton, the personality-laden Panton Tray, resembling folded paper, injects a transparent industrial texture into the three-dimensional living space.

The classic Cobra candleholder exudes elegance like a serpentine figure, instantly lighting up the mood upon entering the room.

Of course, the collection would be incomplete without the most iconic symbol of the North, the Royal Guards series by Danish design master Kay Bojesen.
