Flooding in South China Kills 17, Thousands Relocated

Heavy rains have unleashed havoc on parts of southern China, where at least 17 people have been killed over the past several days and hundreds of thousands have been relocated, according to state media.

In Guangdong province, an unexpected torrent of water killed two near Qingyuan, with one personal still missing, according to GRT Radio. 

Guilin, Guangxi 

Guangxi autonomous region has seen seven deaths due to violent downpours, as well as the evacuation of 23,000 people. Tragically, three individuals are still missing in the region.

Xinshao county, Hunan 

A confounding 300,000 people have been evacuated in Hunan, where eight people have perished, according to Xinhua.

Guilin, Guangxi 

China’s National Weather Observatory issued a yellow alert yesterday for the third consecutive day, suggesting further precipitation is predicted for the southern portion of the country.
