Passengers on a Boeing 737-800 airplane in China likely got the scare of their life this week after it landed while missing a wheel.
Pilots of the Urumqi Air flight did not notice the missing wheel on the left side of the plane upon descent during a routine flight on the afternoon of May 16, reports People's Daily. The aircraft was otherwise said to have a "normal landing."
After passengers on Flight UQ2537 from Urumuqi to Zhengzhou disembarked, the maintenance team spotted the wheel on the runway at Xinzheng International Airport in Henan province.
The company later released an official apology stating that the aircraft had a 'comprehensive security check.'
Hopefully, China's first domestically-built passenger jet won't suffer the same fate!
