Caffeine dependent Shanghai denizens get happy, there’s a new gourmet coffee spot in town, and they’re having a grand opening party on December 5 that YOU’RE invited to. For free.
The spot is next to a trendy block of offices for creative types and has a cute little terraced courtyard as well as the inside. They’ve also got the roof of the building for hosting after work cocktails and live music events.
But we digress. The party will be on December 5 from 8pm all the way to 2am, so that’s like, your Friday night taken care of. The party is FREE entrance once you add their WeChat (username: CambioKid) and RSVP with the message “Opening Party”.
Once you’ve done that, stroll on in and get two free drinks (wine, beer, cocktail punchbowls and coffee-infused drinks) and a free food ticket (tacos, burritos and more from La Coyota). There will also be ton of entertainment performances including:
Live Latin music and DJs
An art exhibition curated by Katy Roseland from Basement 6
A salsa dance workshop from Loca Dance Studio
An Incan warrior show (a nod to Cambio’s Andean heritage)
Live mural painting
Theatre performance from Pomegranate Performance Project
Brazilian Capoeira performance
AND a lucky draw of prizes.
Sound like a lot for a coffee shop opening? Maybe so, but the guys behind Cambio dream big, and already have an organic coffee wholesale business ethically buying beans directly from small farms around the world (including China).
What’s more, 5% of all gross profits will be donated to three local charities. There’ll also be opportunities for guests to donate to these charities directly on the night. Sounds like good clean, caffeinated fun.
