Soundbite: Free beer at Shanghai Brewery anniversary bash

Soundbites are pieces of food and drink related news and gossip to aid your digestion of the Shanghai dining scene.

In celebration of their 5th anniversary (and to quash the last of any false rumors that the Hengshan branch is closing) Shanghai Brewery on Hengshan Lu is throwing an epic party next Monday, March 16, at 7pm.

On offer will be two kegs of fresh, handcrafted White IPA and People’s Pilsner, courtesy of American brewmaster Josh Dietner. All gratis until the two kegs run out.

Far from shuttering down, the Shanghai Brewery team tells us that business is booming. So much so, in fact, they’re expanding to a new location on buzzing Donghu Lu, mingling with Gemma, Elefante, Liquid Laundry, Monkey Champagne and Le Baron, amongst many others. The new Donghu Lu branch is set to open in April. Stay tuned for more news on that one.
