Recently, Mixpace and Mosaic Shanghai announced that they are working together to create the first co-working space in a shopping mall on Shanghai’s famous pedestrian shopping street, Nanjing East Road. Mixpace will convert 2,000 square meters of space on the top floor of Mosaic Shanghai into a brand new co-working space named Mixpace Mosaic. With its convenient location and fun working experience in a shopping mall, the space is sure to become a co-working landmark in Shanghai.
About Mixpace and Mosaic Shanghai
Mixpace is committed to creating quality design and providing optimal services to connect entrepreneurs and consumers to a fully outfitted workspace. Mixpace was founded in 2016 and has multiple locations in the city’s top business centers. Mixpace Mosaic will be the 20th co-working space the company runs in Shanghai and Beijing, where they provide services to hundreds of companies and more than 10,000 members.
Mosaic Shanghai is located on the busiest pedestrian street, Nanjing East Road, in Shanghai and targets Chinese millennials and Chinese tourists with its hip urban positioning. With the aim of bringing the concept of ‘mixing, meeting and entertaining’ to life, Mosaic Shanghai is set to become one of the leading shopping, leisure and F&B destinations for millennials, with a wide variety of trendy domestic and international brands.
Bringing a Youthful Vibe to a Historic Building
With similar positioning and target groups, Mixpace and Mosaic Shanghai have joined forces for this project. Mixpace is devoted to creating Mixpace Mosaic as the perfect integration of ‘urban renewal and office in retail.’
Mixpace has a talent for examining historical buildings through a modern lens and combining the old and the new. They will leverage the mall’s spirit and environment and transform the 2,000-square-meter space on the top floor, which was previously used for food and beverage, into a fun and fashionable working space for young Chinese people. While working there, users can easily go downstairs into the mall for shopping, dining and entertainment.
Mosaic Shanghai is a good example of urban renewal. The mall was built in the 1930s and was one of the earliest retail buildings in Shanghai. Since 2016, the asset management specialist, Pradera Retail Asia, has taken over the mall and through a series of renovations and upgrades, turned the mall into one of the leading shopping, leisure and F&B destinations for millennials, bringing an exciting and young vibe to the historical 80-year-old building.
As part of the Mosaic Mall, customers can go to M Square – a themed area with a unique collection of niche cosmetic and lifestyle offerings and M Porium – a themed area capturing the feeling of Shanghai and oriental design, containing a rich array of trendy and local F&B operators as well as contemporary Shanghai style retailors. Since September 2018, the first Merlin Entertainments Dungeon attraction in Asia opened here allowing visitors to enjoy a scary, fun and immersive experience of old Shanghai legends. For fashion lovers there are plenty of choices too: the largest flagship store of FILA in the Chinese mainland, H&M, Pull&Bear, Only, Vero Moda and Jack& Jones, to name a few. There are also various local and international F&B options, including the newly-opened famous beverage brand Hey Tea.
What Does Mixpace Mosaic Co-Working Have to Offer?
With flexible rental terms, startups and small enterprises can easily start operation immediately in the high-quality office space featuring exquisite design and a comfortable environment. Users can use apps to remotely control various facilities and equipment of the smart office system.
Regular social activities, including bike parties, photo exhibitions, concerts, talk shows, fashion shows and other cross-border activities will be organized by the Mixpace team to curate a community spirit. Mixpace will also launch a new member program which enables free knowledge-sharing and networking among users at multiple events, seminars and workshops with key opening leaders and industrial experts. The offline interactions of the young users will bring a new dynamic to Mixpace as well as Mosaic Shanghai.
In this community, senior entrepreneurs will link members to direct business opportunities, introduce them to new connections and offer resources. The integrated concept of ‘space, intelligence, service and community’ makes Mixpace not only a working space provider but also a service provider that brings value-add for young Chinese companies and start-ups.
Shared office spaces are not just a trend but a new way of life. Sharing of services, ideas and knowledge is not just mainstream but a new way to grow as a community. Mosaic Shanghai and Mixpace are looking forward to the opening of this landmark co-working space, Mixpace Mosaic, at the end of 2019.
