Beijing Police on Manhunt Following Stabbing Spree and Fatal Hit and Run

A man is accused of going on a stabbing spree in Beijing on Sunday before getting into his vehicle and driving through a group of nine people, Xinhua reports. One person was killed in the hit and run.

Beijing police are currently conducting a manhunt to find the attacker. The man is accused of stabbing five people with a pair of scissors. The incident occurred around 3pm in the suburban district of Miyun on Sunday, police said. The man then fled the scene in his van in an attempt to escape. He injured eight people in a hit and run and killed one.

The injured were immediately taken to the hospital where they were treated, Xinhua reported Sunday.

Miyun police are reportedly still searching for the suspect. Police have not released any information on the possible motive for the crime.
