Nov 15: Tinariwen
Tuareg musical collective Tinariwen, who won a Grammy for their 2011 album Tassili
and are renowned for their emotional, politically charged desert blues,
come to Shanghai for the first time as part of a tour from Split

Nov 16: Ladies Who Tech in Action x General Motors
Founded
by a group of women working in STEM industries who aim to spread
awareness about the lack of women in science and engineering
professions, Ladies Who Tech hold their latest event in conjunction with
General Motors, the first automotive company to have a female CEO. With
three speakers from different professional backgrounds, the event will
be held at the GM headquarters in Jinqiao, but GM will be providing free
transportation from the city center. The event is free with RSVP.

Nov 17: Sam Binga
Jane
Siesta’s long-running local drum & bass night Sweatshop brings over
Bristol-based DJ Sam Binga for his Shanghai debut. Expect an energetic
dance floor for his unique clash of jungle, grime, footwork, dub, juke
and drum & bass.

Nov 17: Bezier + Josh Cheon
For this exciting double-booking, Antidote brings over Bezier of San
Francisco's queer dance party collective Honey Soundsystem and Josh
Cheon of disco/dark wave re-release label Dark Entries. Expect a
synth-laden, queer-friendly dance floor with everything from vintage
house and disco tracks to acid, goth rock and electropop. See our interview with Josh Cheon here.

Nov 17: MØ: The Future is Girls'
STD
hosts this girl power-themed show headlined Danish electropop artist
MØ, who was one half of a feminist punk band before becoming the vocalist on Major Lazer's wildly popular
song 'Lean On' and becoming one of the world's biggest pop stars. She's also collaborated with Justin Beiber and Iggy
Azalea, and is known for her fun and raucous live shows.

Nov 17: Paul van Dyk
One of the world's most famous DJs and an icon of trance music, Paul van
Dyk returns to Shanghai after recovering from a near-death experience
last year, when he fell off the stage during a festival. He's touring
his chart-topping latest album, From Then On, which explores his new
lease on life and has a trippy, futuristic visual accompaniment. Check out our interview with PvD here.

Nov 17-18: Shanghai Black Fashion Week
This
debut event in Shanghai focuses on showcasing diverse underground
fashion design talent from all over the world. Head to event space DOBE
WE@Donghua for a weekend of fashion shows and seminars from China-based
designers and fashion experts. The theme for the first Shanghai Black
Fashion Week is ‘royalty’ which will be reflected in the collections.

Nov 18: Chi Fan for Charity
Now
on its seventh year, Chi Fan for Charity is Asia’s largest charity
F&B event. Every year, some of Shanghai’s best restaurants donate a
meal for 10 people — diners then choose their restaurant for the evening
and purchase the meal, and 100 percent of the profits go to a selected
charity. The causes for 2017 are the World Academy for the Future of
Women, which advocates for gender equality and social justice and
Shanghai Sunrise, a charity that focuses on raising funds for
educational scholarships for underprivileged and at-risk people in
Shanghai. Check their website for more info and a list of restaurants

Nov 18: Euphoria featuring College
Fake
Music Media teams up with the Delegation of the European Union to China
for this party series showcasing European electronic music. Arkham
hosts the Shanghai installment, headlined by popular French synth wave
producer College, who is best known for the track 'Real Hero' from the
soundtrack to the movie Drive. He's joined by Amsterdam's Marcel Vogel
and Germany's Andre Hommen.

Nov 18: Denis Sulta
Beijing
promoters Suanpan bring over Glasgow DJ Sulta, who at only age 24 was
listed as #26 on Resident Advisor's Top 100 DJs Poll and graduated from
Red Bull Music Academy in Montreal. Heís known for catchy big-room house
tracks cut through with melodic synth and will be making his China
debut at Dada.

Nov 19: Public Gangster Tour
Longstanding
Shanghai tour company Newman Tours hosts this special one-off of their
classic gangster tour. Your tour guide (in character as a colonial
Shanghai ganger) gives you an intro on the cityís biggest figures of the
underworld, from 'Big Eared' Du with his lucky monkey heads to
'Pockmarked' Huang and his police car drug distribution. Other perks
include the chance to try chopstick pickpocketing, learn how to cheat in
a casino, and an optional extra Cops vs. Robbers Shooting Competition.

Nov 19: Shanghai Shenhua vs SIPG Chinese FA Cup Final First Leg
The
biggest football games in Shanghai history take place this month as
Shanghai SIPG take on arch rivals Shenhua in a two-legged FA Cup Final.
Will the red half of Shanghai rejoice with Hulk, Oscar, Wu Lei and coach
AVB? Or will the blues make up for a dismal season and Carlos Tevez
finally justify his mega wage?
