See you in Hell, China: PRC officially heathen capital of the world, new survey finds

Turns out there might've been more to that river of blood in Wenzhou and "Gateway to Hell" recently discovered in Xinjiang than meets the eye: China is officially the heathen capital of the world, according to a new poll by WIN/Gallup International.

Only seven percent of mainland respondents claimed to be religious, with a whopping 61 percent professing atheism - twice as many as any other country. 1,000 people each in 65 countries worldwide were questioned to compile the figures, which determined that six of every ten people worldwide is a believer.

Hong Kong followed the mainland on the 'least religious' list with 34 percent of residents saying there is no God, while Japan can also boast an impressive 31 percent infidel rate.

The world's most religious place, meanwhile, was our deliriously happy neighbor to the south: Thailand, which also recently ranked as the "least-miserable" economy on Earth.

We could be that happy too, Thailand, if we weren't so busy being right about everything.
