Jamie Oliver opens Hong Kong restaurant proudly proclaiming 'No Chinese ingredients!'

Mockney celebrity chef Jamie Oliver drew back the curtains on the latest branch of his Jamie's Italian chain yesterday.

Situated on the increasingly foodie-friendly Tang Lung St in Causeway Bay, the restaurant proven its healthy mantle by promising "no mainland [Chinese] ingredients."

Jamie previously won heart and minds by attempting to speak Cantonese when the Hong Kong branch was first announced:

 

 

Unfortunately, the opening was marred by epic waits for dishes to arrive on table, up to an hour for main courses. If they really want to fit in in Hong Kong they'll have to learn to adapt to the local pace of life first.
