French President Emmanuel Macron kicked off a three-day visit to China with a tour of the famous Terracotta Warriors along with wife Brigitte Macron earlier today.
The couple was greeted at Xi'an Airport this morning.
Following their time in the ancient capital of Xi'an, the President and First Lady will head to Beijing to explore the Forbidden City and meet with Chinese leaders. President Macron was invited by President Xi Jinping, and it's his first state visit to the country. It's also the first visit from an EU leader since last October's Party Congress, as well as the first from a foreign head of state in 2018.
The state visit is scheduled to last until January 10.
