The photos above were taken way back in 2006 to promote MTV's Video Music Awards. We don't really know how Sun Tzu's theories tie in with the VMAs, but we're sure it probably made a lot more sense 11 years ago. 

Redditors on the popular "Photoshop Battles" thread have since made some brilliant tweaks to the images, like this:

The photos resurfaced this weekend when the former reality TV star posted them on Twitter. Attempting to turn herself into a meme, she poked fun at the images with the following caption:

No word yet on what Hilton's BFF Ai Wei Wei thinks about her choice in books.
