Warm days have returned to the Pearl River Delta. While admittedly, it's still relatively cool at night, there is little doubt the days have gotten progressively hotter since that nasty cold spell we experienced during the second week of February.
A report published yesterday by Tencent News states, “Although there is a temperature difference between day and night, the colder evenings have been unable to stop the Cantonese people from wearing short skirts to welcome the summer early.”
Photo evidence appears to back this up, with ladies showing a little more leg than they might have in January and some men ditching trousers for shorts.
Guangzhou experienced a high of 27 degrees Celsius on Friday, February 17, while the mercury hit 30 in Shenzhen. The warm weather is expected to hang around until Wednesday, with highs in the mid-20s and lows varying from 16-19 degrees Celsius.
For those hoping t-shirt weather is here to stay, we encourage you to refrain from packing up your hoodies just yet, as the temperature is expected to drop again Thursday, with a high of 16 and a low of 12 in Guangzhou. Friday and Saturday will see lows of 11 degrees Celsius.
