To say that Eastern China has a high population density would be an understatement.
But don't take our word for it — just check out this map, created by Reddit user jackblack2323, to see how the entire US population of 320 million people would fit into China.
But as io9 points out, the above map is a bit skewed as it doesn't take into account the population density of other provinces. While that figure is significantly higher in the four highlighted ones (Jiangsu, Shandong, Anhui and Henan), other provinces, specifically those in Western China, aren't as dense. Just take a look at this map from the same Reddit user, which shows population for each province (in millions):
Moral of the story? While maps like these are cool, population density isn't necessarily evenly distributed. Redditor gotrees drives this point home with another map showing how America's population would fit into Western China:
