Hot off the Instagram press: Ai Weiwei and Paris Hilton are now BFFs, so to speak.

The artist and activist posed for a selfie with the former reality TV star on his Instagram account (@aiww) yesterday. He also posted an image of the hotel heiress taking a selfie. The two are in Paris (how fitting!) for the opening of Ai Weiwei's selfie exhibit at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche.

The former Simple Life star and one-time singer (@parishilton) returned the favor with two photos of her own, writing: "Congratulations to my friend @AiWW on the opening of his new art exhibit at @LeBonMarcheRiveGauche in Paris."

Paris' 5.4 million Instagram followers fell in love with the picture, with one commenting: "What a beautiful match! Two human beings, both so intelligent with an enormous heart for humanity." Activism: That's Hot.

On the plus side, Ms. Hilton will probably find it 100 percent more difficult to get a visa next time she wants to unleash her DJing skills on China.
