North Korea has a long, illustrious history of eye-catching propaganda images - bright, vibrant images of missiles, farmers and Yankee imperialists, each more iconic than the last. It looks like the head of the DPRK art department may have been purged, though, because their latest posters are some shoddy work.
The poster below, picked up by the ever-excellent NKNews.org, encourages readers to "Wage a dynamic struggle against drought through a mass campaign!" It also, from the looks of things, encourages them to have their heads not quite align with their necks, and to have cartoon bodies below an obviously-photographed face.
Coincidentally, we at That's Online know our way around Adobe's offerings, and we made a similar poster not too long ago, when Mark Zuckerberg was telling the press that he really like Xi Jinping's book:
See how the face has the same colors and tones as the body? For all of the North Korean propaganda artists reading this, that's the result of the "posturize" filter, and some layer styles.
But really, if you're going to go through the effort of making a poster in the first place, it's important to at least line the head up with the neck. Come on, guys. We expect more from you.
Remember this poster, from 2012? Also a photographed face popped on to a cartoon body, but this time it looks like somebody treated their work with the dedication and attention to detail that it truly required. We're not angry, we're just disappointed to see such a slip in quality.
