Want to try an innovative and delicious plant-based chef’s menu? Well, good news, as we've teamed up with Zee-Ai plant-based meat for our Calorie Challenge, with five chefs in five different restaurants preparing their very own healthy eating menus, with the people’s favorite crowned winner.

High protein, zero cholesterol and low saturated fat, Zee-Ai plant-based meat is a dream for chef’s to incorporate into their dishes. Two successful events have already been held at Green Friday and Jing Alley, with diners commenting on how good Zee-Ai tastes, as well as how much the the plant-based meat looks like animal meat.

The gauntlet has now been thrown down to Hungry Lung's Kitchen to present a plant-based chef’s menu. And it sounds like they've come up trumps, with the following on offer:

  • Plant-based black pepper nuggets and veggie sticks with red pepper hummus dip

  • Plant-based meatballs and a duo of mushrooms in pernod cream sauce

  • Plant-based beef patty and fried egg sandwiched in an English muffin and served with grilled brocollni and roasted tomatoes

We're talking some serious yum factor. That all comes with an aperol spritz, soft drink or fruit tea, and for the unbelievable price of RMB108. Yup, you read that right.

Founded in 2012 by Lung (above), who was born into a family of chefs in Montreal, Hungry Lung's Kitchen is famed for its global comfort food menu – think eggs benedict from the USA, poutine from Canada, shepherd's pie from the UK, laksa from Southeast Asia – as the Calorie Challenge chef's menu reflects.

Selecting only the highest quality imported ingredients, Lung advocates a simple and happy life, and puts all his passion and love in HLK, to share with you this ideal. Lung's restaurant philosophy? "Food that fulfills every fiber in your body, from head to toe, right down into your soul."

As for Zee-Ai, those of you who went to Beernanza in August may have stopped by their booth, where they dished out their top sellers: plant-based spring rolls and chicken nuggets. They also enthusiastically launched their plant-based burgers for the first time ever, with consumers tucking in without even realizing that it wasn’t animal meat-based.
