Feb 14: Rollmantic Valentine's Day

Equally good for lovers and singles, head over to our favorite roller rink-cum-cocktail bar RIINK for a totally original way to spend Valentine's Day. RIINK promises a night of unlimited fun on shiny wheels. Refuel with Cupid's love shots, selected cocktails and a snacktastic food platter featuring salmon pole bites, truffled egg salad, gouda cheese meatballs, chicken popsicles, seafood rolls and fries. Feb 14: The Alternative Valentine's Happy Hour

There's no need to wallow this year because Hooked wants you to remember that there's plenty more fish in the sea. In celebration of this happy fact, they've got you covered with free house lager, red and white wines from 7-8pm. After the hour of free flow, drinks are available at the bargain price of RMB25, and DJ Charles N' Tonic will keep the party upbeat all night long.

Brand ambassadors Graydon 'SPF1000' Tullis (Havana Club) and Alvin 'Bora Bora' Barbasa (Absolut) are thumbing their noses at this awful Arctic windchill with a badass Tiki Takeover at Mary Magnate. Feb 16: Cages Karaoke

Join the fun folks at Cages every Saturday night for a night of proper Western-Style Karaoke! Choose from any song you want and sing in front of everyone! We've heard of singing for our supper, but these guys want you to sing for your booze with all singers receiving one free beer from BrewDog or glass of wine. Then at 11pm, the top three singers of the evening win free BrewDog beer or bottles of wine.

Feb 14, 16: Healthy Chinese Cooking

Do you want to improve your cooking? Then you need to check out Chef Shiyin's twice-weekly classes mixing traditional Chinese cookery with modern nutrition. The lessons provide an introduction to local ingredients and natural spices. There are different menus each week, so scan the QR code for the full schedule.

Feb 16-17: Milkstand

The Milkstand pop-up will be open this weekend at Taikang Terrace. Flat whites, cheesy sage scones with pesto, sugar scones with strawberry butter, blood orange tart, apple tart tatin, gelato and affogatos will be available. We're drooling just thinking about it.

Feb 16: Jameo Dogs

TY7 Bar on quaint Shaoxing Lu will be kicking off its new daily drink deal this Saturday, Jameo Dogs! BrewDog craft beer and Jameson Irish Whiskey will be sponsoring beer backs, a bottle of BrewDog and a shot of Jameson, for RMB60. Beer pong will also be available for people that purchase drinks, and all tacos from Rastaco will be RMB20.

Feb 17: Korean and Chinese Healthy Cooking

Chinese Chef Shiyin Wang joins forces with Korean Chef Amy Jang for a fun and wholesome cooking collaboration. The menu consists of dishes based on classic Korean and Chinese flavors updated for healthy eaters. Come learn low oil, whole food versions of your favorite classics.

Feb 20: Stone Beer University February Workshop

Go back to school with Stone Brewing because lessons have never been more delicious. The Stone Beer University workshop is a guided tasting event featuring Stone and some of their craft brewing comrades. This time around they are focusing on Chinese craft beer history and the evolution of the local scene with the help of Lin Lin from the Shanghai Craft Brewers Association. Focusing on Chinese beers, you sample and compare brews, considering factors like malt presence, alcohol content, flavor profile, IBU level, temperature, glassware and food pairing. After enjoying six beer tasters (5 ounce pours each), you will receive 10 percent off all takeaway beer purchases.

Feb 20: XIME Craft Sake Pairing Dinner Series

XIME hosts its popular Craft Sake Pairing Dinner series for the third time with a New Year's Tavern of Taste. Kobe chef Jun Nishio prepares four-course dinner inspired by traditional Japanese New Year celebration food. Each course will be paired with four types of craft sake from sake brand Kariho Shozo for a unique tasting experience. The dinner will be hosted by Japanese SSI association sake sommelier Mr. Hu Xiao. If you find your new favorite sake, the four types will be available for purchase. Just make sure to book ahead because there are only ten seats available.
