British superstar comedian Russell Howard is bringing his record-breaking show Round The World to Shanghai on May 25. This will mark his first time here for what could possibly be the biggest stand-up show in China ever.
For those unacquainted (see: not from the UK), trust us when we say this guy is kind of like the David Beckham of comedy—he’s a media darling, has a colossal fanbase and sports an outrageously boyish charm. Unlike Becks though, he makes you laugh on purpose.
The 37-year-old stand-up comedian, TV/radio presenter and actor made his name with appearances on British television staples Mock The Week, Nevermind the Buzzcocks and many more before scoring top ratings with his own show Russell Howard’s Good News on BBC.
He broke Frank Sinatra’s record of most consecutive performances at London’s Royal Albert Hall when he performed the Round The World show there for 10 nights in a row.
Thu May 25, 7pm, from RMB480. Shanghai Art Theatre (Yihai Theatre), see event listing.
