PHOTOS: Participants Race up SWFC for Shanghai Sky Marathon

The fifth Sky Marathon took place at Shanghai's World Financial Center (SWFC) on Sunday morning.

The annual "vertical marathon" has participants climb 100 floors, 2,726 stairs and 474 meters up Shanghai's second tallest building. This year's event drew nearly 1,000 participants from China, the United States, France, Japan, Estonia, Brazil, Sweden and Finland.

In the men's event, Zeng Wenbo from Changsha took first place with a time of 16 minutes and eight seconds, breaking the previous record of 16:56. In the women's race, Yueqing of Fujian won with a time of 24:41.

This year, Man U's  Ronnie Johnson was also on the sidelines cheering on the racers.
