The 2025 China Open tennis tournament is scheduled to take place at the National Tennis Center in Beijing from September 14 to October 5.

This event is set to be the first three-week comprehensive tennis event in Asia, encompassing ITF (International Tennis Federation) juniors, WTA (Women’s Tennis Association), and ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) men’s tournaments.

It will be the 24th edition of the China Open for men and the 26th for women.

The National Tennis Center, originally built for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, has hosted the China Open since 2009. Its crown jewel is the Diamond Court, which has a seating capacity of 15,000. In total, the facility has 11 courts that use advanced air-cooling technology.

(Although, sadly, the air in Beijing is already getting chilly on its own).

The China Open has just officially announced its player entry list for the 2025 championship, featuring 14 Grand Slam champions and three Chinese players, including Zheng Qinwen whose current WTA single ranking is No.7.

Among the females, there will be 12 Grand Slam champions, including top players such as Naomi Osaka, Coco Gauff, Iga Swiatek, and Madison Keys.

Five of the top 10 male players in the world will participate in the men’s singles tournament: Alexander Zverev, Alex de Minaur, Karen Khachanov, Lorenzo Musetti, and four-time Grand Slam champion Jannik Sinner.

The only other male Grand Slam champion joining is Daniil Medvedev. Both Medvedev and Sinner will be making their third appearance at the China Open.
