This summer, Regent Beijing teams up with esteemed British bone china house Aynsley to present 'Birdsong in Beijing,' a collaborative lifestyle exhibition commemorating Aynsley’s 250th anniversary. Merging timeless British porcelain artistry with contemporary Chinese aesthetics, the partnership transforms the hotel into a cross-cultural celebration of design, taste, and tradition.

Under the theme ‘British Art of Living’, the collaboration unfolds through three signature experiences: an artful pop-up deli, a themed afternoon tea, and a bespoke Aynsley suite, each curated to highlight the legacy and elegance of the iconic tableware brand.

At the first-floor Regent Deli, a temporary pop-up brings a royal touch to Beijing’s dessert scene.

Limited-edition pastries, inspired by British teatime customs, are presented alongside Aynsley’s signature designs, creating a space where craftsmanship meets culinary delight.

The collaboration’s centrepiece is the 'Whispers of the Crown' afternoon tea, served in the Regent Lobby Lounge

Inspired by Aynsley’s classic 'Bird Song' pattern — a Victorian-era design of hand-painted birds, blossoms, and gold trim — the tea set evokes the poetic charm of a royal garden.

Guests enjoy the experience beneath a luminous glass dome surrounded by floral aromas, curated artworks, and the gentle light of summer.

The celebration continues with the unveiling of an Aynsley-themed suite at Regent Beijing.

Designed as a modern tribute to British refinement, the exclusive suite blends porcelain artistry with soft furnishings, accent lighting, and signature decor details to create an immersive urban retreat.

To preview the collaboration, Regent Beijing hosted a cultural showcase on July 17 featuring porcelain painting workshops and British etiquette insights.

The private session, attended by the hotel’s executive team, offered a deeper look at Aynsley’s legacy, setting the tone for upcoming media and public activations.

At the official launch on July 18, Adam Pickford, Minister-Counsellor for Economic Affairs at the British Embassy in Beijing, joined as guest of honour.

"With its rich heritage and unwavering dedication to excellence," said Pickford, "Aynsley remains a leader in the global ceramic arts and a true example of successful cross-cultural collaboration."

The initiative not only honours 250 years of Aynsley’s porcelain innovation but also reflects Regent Beijing’s ongoing commitment to curating elevated lifestyle experiences with global resonance.

Together, they offer a season of artistic immersion, storytelling, and refined living in the heart of Wangfujing.
