It’s hard to believe, but another year has already flown by and Sherpa’s is celebrating another year of fantastic foodie fun. They’re turning 19 years old this month.
Originally founded in 1999 as an MBA internship project, Sherpa’s now delivers thousands of meals a day across Shanghai, Beijing, Suzhou, and, their latest addition, Hangzhou!
It’s great to see how far they’ve come since launching their food delivery service with couriers wearing hand-sewn uniforms and baseball caps, riding around on bicycles with wooden delivery boxes strapped on the back. Their first ‘headquarters’ was set up in an office borrowed from a cleaning company. Sherpa’s call center staff would have to wait until the cleaners clocked out for the day to go in and start taking orders.
Fortunately for all those hungry expats out there, Sherpa’s persevered through a tough start and now helps hungry expats and locals get meals from their favorite restaurants delivered right to their home or office at their convenience. Yum.
To celebrate this special time of year, Sherpa’s is inviting you to join in the festivities from October 19 through November 6. Current Sherpa’s users will find a special hongbao in the ‘coupon’ section of their user profiles.
Customers in Shanghai and Beijing can all receive 19 awesome restaurant vouchers! Customers in Suzhou and Hangzhou can separately receive vouchers worth RMB385 and RMB380, respectively.
New users can also receive the same promotions by scanning the QR code.
