Here, a roundup of things we ate and gossiped about this month – for journalism, for research, for you, readers.
Well, Beijing – it's officially fall. The swampy summer heat is now a fading memory, replaced by a glorious autumn breeze. Rejoice.
Of course, there are some things we'll miss: So long frozen margs, boozy pool parties and beer gardens. (Yeah, we pretty much spent the whole summer drinking.) But it's not all sad news. Fall also comes bearing tasty gifts.
For starters, Home Plate has revamped their menu and added some fresh meat like crispy pork belly and spicy Chengdu sausage. Oh, and smoked duck too. They've even glammed up their dessert menu with pecan pie and a smoked banana pudding.
Meanwhile, Bistrot B at the Rosewood Beijing is keeping it classy with a brand new afternoon tea dubbed 'Black Gold,' featuring champagne and caviar. How ritzy.
Slow Boat's brews continue to pop up all over the city, sometimes in the most unexpected places (like Smash, Beijing's newest 'destructotherapy' center.) The brewery has now teamed up with Ramo to serve you some beer-inspired snacks like saucy chicken wings and BBQ burger pizza at the trendy Lido joint. Plus, sip on a discounted pint of Slow Boat's citrusy Helmsman's Honey Ale at La Villa every Wednesday.
Cheers to that.
