Aug 31: The Hot Club Of Beijing

The Hot Club of Beijing is an award-winning ensemble that carries on the tradition of Django Reinhardt’s music through their work. The multinational band hails from diffentent countries around the world including France, Greece, the US and China, which gives an eclectic flavor to their gypsy jazz sound.

Sept 1: December 3am + Shape Shifters

Shape Shifters is brand new to the Beijing music scene, but they’re doing something pretty intriguing by combining the sounds of ancient Persian, classical Indian, jazz and more. Inner Mongolia post-rockers December 3am will also play.

Sept 3: LBM presents Autumn Harvest

To usher in autumn, Live Beijing Music and DDC have come together to bring us the hottest new music acts, as well as some old favorites too. Gum Bleed (punk), Spin Axis (post rock), Last Goodbye (psychedelic rock), Rhonda (math rock) and more will take the stage and help us celebrate the fall season.

Sept 3: ACxDC (USA) Asia Tour Beijing Stop! Opening: D-Crash and Mai!

ACxDC (also known as Antichrist Demoncore) is an American hardcore punk band. They’re currently in the midst of a tour around Asia, and they’ll be stopping off at School Bar on Saturday. Rumor has it that this is one of the last shows ACxDC will play – ever.

Sept 4: Shtuby (Isreali Electronic Funk Rock)

This isn’t a traditional gig, but we’re going to include it anyway because it sounds like a trip. Shtuby is influced by all kinds of genres from funk to jazz to electronic music. For his set he incorporates all kinds of instruments into his performance, including flute, bass and keytar.
