July 1-3: HOPS International Premium Beer Festival 

We’ve been waiting for this weekend for what feels like forever. Well, the wait is finally over. Beijing’s first-ever International Premium Beer Festival is starting tomorrow. From Friday until Sunday the MGM Beach (formerly Uper+) will be hosting the much anticipated festival. Obviously there’s going to be lots of beer there – 80 types of premium global beers, to be exact. And, of course, there will also be plenty of mouthwatering international foods on offer to pair with your beers. To top it off, some of Beijing’s best musicians, DJs, entertainers and dancers will be scheduled to perform throughout the three-day beer-soaked extravaganza. July 1: Felix Da Housecat @ Migas

You’ve probably heard of Felix Da Housecat before. But in case you haven’t, we’re here to get you up to speed. Hailing from Chicago, he is one of many legendary DJs who emerged from the Windy City’s house music scene. During the past two decades, Felix Da Housecat has gained international fame for his signature electro sound. He’s performed around the world at some of the biggest music festivals. His work remixing for artists like Madonna and New Order has even garnered him a Grammy nomination. Felix Da Housecat will be performing at Migas on Friday night as part of their Housing series. This is one party that certainly should not be missed.

July 2: A Visual Tribute to Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo

We’re not entire sure what to expect from this ‘Visual Tribute’ to Kanye West. There will be a DJ, projected visuals and, according to the organizer, Beijing’s first chance to “visually experience this social phenomenon and vibe out to the booming bass and sonic sounds of The Life of Pablo.”

July 2: Shucked! Oyster Pop Up Bar

The Hatchery is hosting its first-ever Oyster Pop Up Bar. So get ready to get shucked! On Saturday evening, fresh imported oysters from Australia and France will be shucked all night long in the dining room. There will of course be deals on sparkling wine and Champagne, as well as music by DJ Saucy.

July 4: 4th of July Celebrations

Even if you’re not American, there’s no reason not love the 4th of July. What more could you want in life than a day revolving entirely around beer, food and explosives. Or is it just the Americans in our office that feel that way?  In case you want to celebrate, there are plenty of gatherings going on around Beijing.  The big ones are at Home Plate BBQ, Jing-A and Great Leap.
