In lieu of some unexpected repairs, Dada's moving the party to UP Shanghai tonight - the newly minted bar on Shaanxi Bei Lu. Should be a fun night of techno under the bright neon lights of the venue's circus-y fever dream.

Nov 30: UP Grand Opening Party

You've seen it on your moments and pop up a few times in our posts, but UP is officially opening tomorrow night and you should definitely check it out. It's gorgeous, the food is great, the drinks are delicious and the DJs are on point. Like, it's maybe the best American Chinese food we've had in years. Plus this crazy outdoor terrace. Seriously, just go check it out.

Nov 30: Nightmares on Wax

He's played the world's highest DJ set (on Mt. Kilimanjaro), racked up over 7 million views with his Boiler Room set and is known for sprinkling his shows with a lil' bit o jazz. Now at Celia (NOT DADA), with support from Cruel Buddhist, it's bound to be a more intimate experience with two of the greats. Space is limited, so come early.

Nov 30: Boom Bap

The Boom Bap night returns to C's Bar with Shanghai-based DJ and record producer Mighty Mark from Ukraine. Expect soul, funk, hip hop, bass, trap, breaks and turntablism from the man joining resident, DJ LOKE.

SHAKE keeps funkin' into the future, with a concert dedicated to the women pushing funk and soul steadily forward. The club's six-piece band and guest singers interpret the music of Mary J Blige, Alicia Keys, Janelle Monae, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone and more at this show and dance party. Supper club vibes from 6pm; live music from 10.30pm. Futuristic nu-attire encouraged.

Did you know a new club opened up in United Valley? Well, they did, and it's called DASH, and hip hop is apparently their thing. We haven't been yet, but feel that's one thing this city could use more of so... here's hoping.

Dec 6: Specters Night!

The boys are back at it with on brand posters n' all! You can’t kill what was always dead, which is why Specters has risen to the occasion and thrown together a DJ night at Yuyintang Park a week from today. Baron Van West, Compact Dicks, Tina Turntrick and more of the venue’s favorite disc jockeys will be manning the tables for a night of cheap drinks, old friends and good times.
