Hey! Have you heard yet? Have you heard we're throwing a Halloween party? Have you missed the like, dozens of posts we've put out about it? WELL! Get ready for one of the freakiest shindigs poppin' off this weekend. We're taking over Cages and it's gonna get weird. There'll be a costume competition and lots of drinking, so come hang with us - we're pretty ok people. Also it's four drinks for RMB100 if you pre-order. Try to say that's not a good deal.

Oct 25: Ron Gallopoli, Mirrors & Umbrellas

You can expect dark, rhythmic electronic from this New Zealand artist. While it's not exactly a party, this show's a breath of fresh air if you're looking for an alternative to all the Halloween shenanigans. And Mirrors puts on one of the best live shows in the city. Ok yes it's a concert, but we forgot to put this in the line up yesterday and it's going to be a really good one, so there. Here it is.

Oct 26: Halloween: Super Disney Smash Bros

The arch rivalry between Disney and Nintendo is coming to a head this Halloween at Bar Rouge (even though it's not really a thing.) Grab your garb and suit up as your favorite character from either franchise and battle it out on the dance floor.

Dada is having a food party and you know it’s going to be hype. China Social Club is releasing a cookbook, transforming Dada into a culinary emporium with food-themed music, visuals and tons of references to dietary obscurities. But really, they're releasing a super cool artsy cook book of sorts.

Oct 26: The Beats Forever Indie Night

You forgot to do laundry. Now the options are pretty much being ugly, dirty or naked. Ease your worries by going to Specters, because you can only really do it for another 6 days. Indie rock, Brit pop, Mod music, you name it - Specters is playing everything you almost forgot about but still love. And there will be like, 9,000 random people DJing. It's gonna be a beautiful, fun, mess that you really can't afford to miss.

Oct 26-27: New Shake City: The 90s R&B Concert

We're just gonna give you their copy because we really appreciate Shake's vibe and it never needs re-writing. Thanks Ian: Beepers, baggy pants, crop tops, floppy disks, Lexus sedans and 90's R&B. Shanghai's house of funk and soul takes it back to back in the day, with a concert featuring the music of TLC, Jade, Janet, BBD, Michael, Ginuwine and lots more. Singer / producer Courtney Knott directs and stars in this show, joined by SHAKE's six-piece band. Dressing up in living colors highly encouraged: from New Jack Swing to Hip Hop Soul and beyond. Costume contest on the 27th with winners announced at midnight! Dinner from 6pm. Live music from 10.30pm.

Oct 27: Gothic Halloween and The Tribute Show After Party

Go to Specters. They're going to have an afterparty for the Halloween Tribute Show at Yuyintang Park, with more music and lots of people are gonna be there. 2am they'll be playin' some live stuff and that's not something they do, so it's gonna be good, and you'll have plenty to keep you busy beforehand.

China's favorite party organizers SHFT have teamed up with Budweiser to throw the biggest Halloween Warehouse Rave the country has ever seen, yeee boii. We're also giving tickets away for this, two sets of two.

Satanas at La Social
It’s going to be hell on earth at La Social this Saturday. The Latin paradise is kicking it up (or should we say down) a notch with devilish drinks and all the standard reggaeton. Dress as Lucifer himself and you'll get in for free - not sure how generous they're going to be with the half-assed costumes though. Go big or go home, right?

Caza Presents 'Freak Show Halloween' Cirque Le Soir

Caza's bringing in the Cirque Le Soir team from London and...well, we expect it to get real weird. But in a good way. We went like four years ago and ended up drinking prosecco in a bathtub-turned-ballpit with a woman sporting mad tattoos and facial piercings. There was also literal fire. Mystery drink specials will be available all-night long, so call to reserve a space.

Oct 31: Coven

This cabaret in the McKinnon is hands down one of the wildest ways you can spend Halloween. Don your whitest whites for the wake of Agnes Sampson - the woman (or witch...?) who attempted to assasinate King James. An extension of Sleep No More, there will be free-flow drinks, dance, lots of gorgeous costumed people and DJs. We're already itching with excitement (and a mild case of hives because that ish is creepy af and we're about it). We're also giving away two tickets to the party, so get on that.
