Sep 1-10: Grand Millennium Shanghai Hongqiao Beer Festival
The Grand Millennium Shanghai Hongqiao Hotel hosts this end-of-summer shindig on their Garden Pavilion to get you geared up for the fall season. Over the course of 10 days, the event features a live band, German specialty dishes from guest chef Jochen Padburg, beer drinking competitions and a great selection of German and regional brews.

Sep 1: MIIIA
How's your energy reserve? Because MIIIA will be spearheading an eight-hour set down at Elevator this Friday. Expect acid bass line illusions, outer space tripping and the techno that will take you there from an artist that has played the world over, including shows in Germany, Spain, Korea and Canada.

Sep 1: Spectrum
Spectrum is back in all its audacious, carefree glory, fearlessly commanding you to "screw your gender." Prepare for a night full of dancing beside the Spectrum unicorn as well as drinks specials to loosen those hips up.

Sep 2: China Social Club
Saturday sees DJ PCJ and DJ Frau, better known as the China Social Club, injecting some funk into Empire with the duo promising breaks, whistles, humor and sing-alongs amongst others. Dancing shoes are mandatory for this one.

Sep 2: Equilibrium Birthday Bash
Good vibes will be emanating from Equilibrium as the eatery celebrates its second birthday in grand fashion. On hand to get the party in full swing is a live DJ, a dance floor and very generous drinks offers on cocktails and mocktails as well as Estrella beer.

Sep 2: Ernesto Chahoud
Known to house a vast collection of rare records, Lebanese DJ Ernesto Chahoud swings by Dada to grace the ears of attendees with offerings ranging from Ethiopian funk, Middle Eastern garage rock and rare belly dance records to name but a few. Don't miss your chance to catch this seasoned collectors' set from the owner and founding member of the Beirut Groove Collective

Sep 2: On Top
Fancy getting all dolled up, catching a breath-taking view of the city and hitting the club to dance the night away? Well, at On Top you can do all three at the same time as the Park Hyatt is converting its 92nd floor into a club atmosphere. Acrophobics ponder carefully...

Sep 2: Freddie For a Day
Pull on that white vest, dig out those old white jeans and through sheer will power alone urge your upper lip to grow a moustache in time for Saturday as Roxie beckons you to join them in celebration of Freddie Mercury's upcoming birthday. Ten percent of the nights' proceedings will go toward the Mercury Phoenix AIDS Trust, with AIDS Services of Austin also a beneficiary. Oh and coming in costume as the man himself gets you a free shot. What's not to like?

Sep 3: Heat Wave Summer Club ft. M.A.N.D.Y. (Philipp Jung)
Better known as one half of the DJ-duo, M.A.N.D.Y. (whose hit 'Body Language' became a ubiquitous hit in 2005), Philipp Jung descends this weekend on the Wet Bar for a lengthy set sure to kickstart your Sunday.

Sep 4: Drink and Draw
Shaving in the Dark returns with this month's Drink and Draw as well as the launch of their second zine. Take part and flirt with the possibility of being included in the zine's third issue. Drinks are also cheap as chips, which will no doubt help to unlock your creative side.
