The Camel Pudong is Closed

Word has reached us that the Camel Pudong is closed, and closed for good. We received the following confirmation:

"The Pudong market is tough, and the venue wasn't seeing the success of others across the group. We have taken the decisions to close the Camel Pudong in order to focus our efforts and resources on our existing projects, and new projects that we have in the pipeline. All staff will remain with the company and continue working for us in other venues."

Did we just read a closing release without the 'We'll be back again soon' spin?! A rare thing in Shanghai indeed...

Anyway, the Camel Sports Bar & Kitchen in Puxi is still going strong, so those in Pudong who need their weekly trivia fix merely need to head over the river for the Tuesday Night Pub Quiz, which is still a firm fixture.

And we're guessing some of those Camel Pudong staff will be migrating over to the new Bull & Claw, which is starting its popular brunch this coming weekend.
