A woman driving without a license in Guangzhou is in police custody after she ran over a toddler - twice - and then tried to pay off the girl's parents.

The woman ran over the child with her car, and then gunned it into reverse, hitting her again. She was not supposed to be behind the wheel at the time, and attempted to pay the child's parents to tell police that her husband was driving instead.

The parents refused, and the woman is now, as could be guessed, in some pretty deep shit.

The girl was playing at a fruit market when she was hit by the car. She is two years old, and is currently in a coma. According to the South China Morning Post, doctors say it is "unlikely" she will survive.

There is no word on how much the woman offered as hush money but, from the looks of things, it wasn't even close to being enough.
