A pig in Wenzhou, Zhejiang was spotted worshiping in front of a Buddhist temple yesterday. Locals were gobsmacked when they left the complex on the final day of a local religious festival and were confronted with a pig bowing towards the gate in what seemed like an act of reverence
Seeing that the pig wasn’t going anywhere, people then invited the monks out to chant scriptures at him. After several rounds of chanting, it finally turned around and walked away slowly.

"Such a spiritual animal!" witnesses proclaimed, "It even knows to seek bless from the Buddha!”
According to Wenzhou Metropolis Daily, the owner of the saintly swine, surnamed Huang, had raised it for over a year and had grown it to over 150 kilograms. On the morning of February 22, the pig escaped along with two other accomplices. Huang didn’t notice until late in the afternoon yesterday, and when he did he recovered the pigs and sent them to the slaughterhouse.
Huang said he only learned about the “bowing” incident after the pig had already been slaughtered. Astonished to see the videos people took, he sighed with remorse: “How bizarre! I’ve been raising pigs for so many years but I’ve never seen anything like this. I really shouldn’t have killed it!”
As one web user pointed out, however, vitamin E deficiency can result in the inability to stand up on all fours and kneel on one's front legs, so Huang's karmic situation might not be all that dire after all.
