Do you let your toddlers spend too much time on tablets, phones, or in front of the TV?

If so, you could face a fine of NTD47,308 (RMB9,454) in Taiwan, where letting a child under two years of age play with any electronic gadget - including mobile phones, tablets and letting them watch television - is now banned according to new laws

The new restrictions also stipulate that children aged two to 18 years can only use electronics as long as the time length spent playing with these gadgets is "reasonable."

However, just how long "reasonable" is has not been accurately defined by the laws brought forward by Lu Shiow-yen, a KMT legislator from Taichung.

Internet addiction has become a serious problem in the opinion of many, with a string of deaths caused by days-long internet binges.
