Videos capturing the moment when a Formula 3 car lost control and flew through the air before crashing into a fence at the Macau Grand Prix, which took place from November 15 to 18 at Macau’s Guia Circuit, have been circulating online today.

According the BBC, the accident occurred when 17-year-old Formula 3 driver Sophia Florsch, reportedly the sole female contestant participating in the race, lost control of her car after hitting the back of Japanese driver Sho Tsuboi on the fast track.

The car then flew into an area occupied by photographers and race officials. Five people were hurt in the scary accident, including Florsch herself, who was traveling at 171.6 miles per hour at the time of the crash. Sho, two photographers and a track marshal were also injured.

According to the report, no one was fatally wounded. Florsch, a German racer, posted on Twitter informing her fans that she is doing well and will undergo surgery on Monday. Florsch suffered a spinal fracture in the incident, according to a Twitter post from her team, Van Amersfoort Racing.

In 2012, two fatal accidents occurred at the Macau Grand Prix, taking the lives of one contestant from Portugal and another from Hong Kong. Last year, 31-year-old British motorcycle racer Daniel Hergaty was also killed during the Macau Grand Prix.
