This week China launched its first freight train to London, the China Railway Corporation announced. The train departed from Yiwu West Railway Station in Zhejiang province and will travel for 18 days before reaching its final destination.

Along the 12,000 kilometer route, the train will pass through Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany, Belgium and France. It is carrying primarily household goods, garments, cloth and bags.

The launch marks China’s 15th overland freight route to Europe.
