First Round of Yongkang Lu Eviction Notices Served

As we reported yesterday, the first round of eviction notices for unlicensed venues on Yongkang Lu would be handed out starting from today.

And indeed, cops were spotted around the popular bar street earlier this afternoon going door-to-door to every single venue and handing out letters with official stamps. We're told from a person on the scene that they visited all venues, regardless of what license they do (or do not) have.

Our insider also tells us that Angry Fish and The Hop Project were among the first unlicensed venues to be handed notices. We're told that the latter is looking for a new venue and that we'll be seeing them somewhere in town soon.

And some big names do not have them.

Earlier this month, the Mayor of Xuhui, Bao Bingzhang, vowed to close down all the bars, especially those close to schools. We then learned that only venues without the proper licensing would be affected.
