Music: Soulspeak vs TTechmak - Love in the Land of Robots
It's the best of both worlds as Shanghai-based jazz man Toby Mak teams with Beijing-based electronic standout Soulspeak for this Ran Music released collaborative disc. Love in the Land of Robots mixes guitar grooves, space-tinged beats and cosmic horns for an absolutely enchanting listen. The disc will be available at Ran Music's Bandcamp from July 21, with an official album release party happening at Cafe Zarah in Beijing on July 23 from 3-7pm. For more, check out our interview with Toby Mak.
TV: Game of Thrones, Season 6
Streaming regulations mean that Mainland audiences aren't able to officially access foreign programming until the season is over and able to be reviewed. Usually this leads to a months long wait (for example, Sohu is starting to stream season nine of The Big Bang Theory), but mere weeks after its explosive season finale, the awesome season six of Game of Thrones has made it to QQ Video for its VIP users - a sign in the show's growing popularity in the Mainland. Available at QQ Video.
