China's rainy season is in full gear, with reports of floods — particularly in southern China — constantly making the news. (Hey, maybe that 2016 Chinese Almanac prediction on flooding was right after all).

The latest in extreme flooding took place in Hubei this weekend, after Mingtang Stadium in Ezhou transformed into a larger-than life swimming pool following three straight days of torrential downpour.

In its 30 years of existence, the stadium has never experienced anything quite like this.

The latest round of rainfall was the city's fourth of the season. Local authorities say that 16 people have been killed and and six are missing following this weekend's storms.
