Two Filipina women visiting Hong Kong were raped by a man impersonating a police officer. Another woman was almost raped by a 60 year old friend. Real policemen are investigating the cases, but no arrests have been made so far, SCMP reports.

According to the women, a muscular South Asian man dressed in a white shirt, blue jeans and black shoes approached them on Nanking Street, Yau Ma Tei, on Monday. The 1.75 metres (5.7 foot) tall man was balding and around 35 years old. He showed them a card and falsely identified himself as a police officer before convincing them to accompany him.

He took the 22 and 26 year old women to a short-stay hotel on the same street and raped them. After reporting the crime to the real police, they were treated at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

No further details have been released.

Another woman was almost raped by a ‘friend’ who was over 60 years old in an unrelated incident in Wan Chai District in Hong Kong on Sunday. The 39 year old suffered injuries to her arms and legs and received treatment at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Ngan Shing Street, Sha Tin.

Hong Kong police received 105 reports of rape last year, down from 121 in 2012.
