The Lux Collective, the award-winning luxury hotel group founded in Mauritius, has announced its ambitious global expansion plans for 2025 and beyond.
With new properties set to debut across China, Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, the group aims to redefine luxury travel through sustainable, culturally immersive, and design-driven experiences.
Among the highlights is the introduction of the SALT brand to China, marking its debut outside Mauritius.
The flagship SALT of Anji in Zhejiang will open in 2025, followed by a second SALT property in Mount Siguniang, Sichuan, in 2027.
Additionally, the group’s flagship LUX* brand will make its first foray into Guangzhou, establishing a presence in one of China’s four tier-one cities.
LUX* Expands its Presence in China
The Lux Collective currently operates nine hotels and resorts in China, including the LUX* Tea Horse Road series and LUX* Chongzuo Guangxi.
LUX* Tea Horse Road Series: Inspired by the historic 1,300-year-old Tea Horse Road, the series features eight boutique hotels across scenic destinations such as Lijiang, Shangri-La, and Benzilan. Each stop along the route offers guests an immersive exploration of local scenery, culture, and cuisine, delivering a uniquely curated travel experience.
LUX* Chongzuo Guangxi Resort: Situated on the China-Vietnam border, this resort blends tropical modernism with the region’s karst landscape and riverfront scenery. Guests can explore iconic landmarks, including the Detian Waterfall, Hua Mountain Rock Paintings, and the White-Headed Langur Nature Reserve.
LUX* Guangzhou
In Q3 2026, the LUX* Guangzhou will open in Huangpu District, marking the group’s first entry into a tier-one Chinese city. This luxury urban resort will feature:
109 guest rooms, including 36 luxury residences.
A contemporary art center and modern office complex.
Multiple gourmet restaurants, a LUX* ME Spa and fitness center, an indoor-outdoor pool, and a children’s playground.

China’s First SALT Hotel to Open in Anji in 2025
SALT of Anji in Zhejiang
In Q2 2025, The Lux Collective will debut China’s first SALT hotel with the opening of SALT of Anji in Zhejiang.
Designed for travelers seeking nature and cultural immersion, the hotel is set against bamboo forests and white tea plantations, offering a serene retreat.
The SALT of Anji will feature:
108 rooms and villas with minimalist design, blending seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
An outdoor swimming pool, signature SALT Equilibrium Spa, and thematic dining experiences.
Architecture by Peter Rich, the acclaimed South African architect, and Jin Weiping, inspired by Gaudí’s organic design principles using natural stone and earthy elements.
SALT of Mount Siguniang in Sichuan
In 2027, the group will open SALT of Mount Siguniang in Sichuan, located within the Mount Siguniang National Park, a 5A-rated scenic area. Designed by renowned architect Dong Gong, the 26,000-square-meter resort will offer:
