LakiPak: Global Fusion, One Stage, One Night @ Blue Note Shanghai

Out of Shanghai’s restless music scene comes a sound you can’t quite pin down—and that’s the point. Meet LakiPak.

Founded by Georgian guitarist Nick Aliev, LakiPak is among the most intriguing musical collectives in recent years to emerge out of the greater China jazz scene.

With members of the collective hailing from seven countries across very different parts of the world, LakiPak blends influences as varied as Georgian melodies, African rhythms, Latin grooves, European electronic textures, and soulful West Coast bass lines.

Rock, funk, and electronic musical content intertwine to create a jazz-soaked sound that feels both new and deeply connected to tradition.

LakiPak has garnered well over 130k listens on Spotify to date and is adding quickly to that number with the recent release of its first EP Here.

An accompanying EP release tour recently took LakiPak throughout Southeast China and now lands the group back at Blue Note Shanghai for a grand homecoming on August 28, its first performance in Shanghai since 2024.
