Lounge by Topgolf has launched new summer lunch sets focusing on seasonal produce through a mix of both Chinese and Southeast Asian flavors.
Available Monday through Friday from 11.30am-2.30pm, and starting from just RMB68, each set includes a rotating daily veggie starter – think fresh salads, sautéed vegetables or homemade pickles – plus a main dish, with 16 to choose from (five of which are new for summer). You also get a drink – coffee, tea, soft drink or soda water.
More than just your average pub grub, the menu at Topgolf provides an elevated alternative with an Asian twist; thoughtful fusion that ties in local flavors, making for a meal more interesting than your standard burger and fries.
Our go-to on the menu, the Miso Tofu with Yuzu Soba Noodles sees a tangy vinegar-forward cold broth base topped with slippery soba noodles – made from buckwheat flour – miso tofu, wakame seaweed, omelet strands and sweet ginger.
A vibrant shmear of wasabi paste is painted across the side of the bowl, tempting diners to fight summer’s fiery heat with more fire.
A play on Suzhou’s san xia mian – or three shrimp noodles – the Steamed Rice with Shrimp is a bowl full of just that, on top of fluffy steamed rice.
Delicately sweet river shrimp, shrimp roe and shrimp sauce make for shrimp heaven, a great source of lean protein that won’t weigh you down before returning to the office.
On the topic of lean protein, the menu jumps from Suzhou to Shanghai with the Steamed Rice with Poached Chicken, a Shanghainese-influenced main topped with ginger and scallion sauce, alongside sauteed bok choy and steamed rice.
Being Topgolf, there are – of course – still a handful of Western lunch options: a Wagyu Cheeseburger; a Truffle Mushroom Pizza; and a classic Reuben Sandwich with French fries, to name but a few.
If you’re still peckish after finishing the full set, add on any side for just RMB38, with options like Creamy Mashed Potatoes, Garlic & Butter Sauteed Mushrooms, Wok-Fried Green Beans with Olive Paste, Poached Choy Sum or French Fries.
Or, add a daily dessert for just RMB28.
The full a la carte menu is also available during lunch hours, with a variety of filling salads, snacks, appetizers, mains and desserts.
We suggest the Roasted Beef Salad (RMB88) replete with sliced avocado, roasted pumpkin, crumbled feta-studded cherry tomatoes, and orzo tossed in Thai basil pesto.
The colorful Prawn & Tropical Fruit Salad (RMB78) offers a generous portion of sliced mango surrounded by pan-fried prawns, grapefruit and orange segments and sliced strawberries crowned with kale leaves and toasted walnuts, all tossed in a zippy lemon dressing.
Craving something refreshingly fruity yet don’t want a full dessert? Topgolf just launched a lineup of colorful non-alcoholic bevvies that can be added to any lunch set for an additional RMB18 – a steal of a deal!
The Dragon Fruit Probiotic Drink showcases mashed ruby-hued dragon fruit blended with Yakult yogurt for a vitamin packed sipper that is good for your gut health.
Equally appetizing, the Frozen Passion Coco is a frothy blended coconut and passion fruit smoothie served up in a martini glass, topped with fresh berries.
